clearly I have not mastered still lifes, yet here is a quickly executed rainy day photo..in part it is also a message to my longtime pbase pal Walter K...in a comment on a post a few days ago Walter expressed an interest in trying Tyrconnell whiskey, and then emailed to ask specifically which one I had referred to in a caption...I had no idea there was more than one, yet an online search revealed a couple of varieties, some aged longer in different casks with flavours like sherry or madeira...so Walter, the one option available here comes in this cardboard tube, distinct in colour compared to the other choices...and I even poured a double shot for each of us, subsequently savoured mine, and since you were not here. I felt obliged to down the second dram too...oh well, it could be worse...and the ensuing glow was well worth the sacrifice.

as for a brief 'tasting note', it will go down even smoother to the accompaniment of this CD 'The Lonesome Touch', by Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, a truly sublime album of Irish fiddle music...cheers Walter

That sounds like quite the perfect evening in. I will have to check those out myself - if I can find them. ~V~

I think you have handled the still life very well compositionally and lovely warm tones.
The grog was obviously enjoyed. Actually believe it or not I enjoy a dram myself on a special occassion!!

I see nothing wrong with this still life! The warm, rich colours, the chosen objects, make me think of sitting around a peat fire... VV

This is inspiring, David except for one thing...I downed a shot once and had no idea my eyes could go in two different directions until then :0) You and Walter go ahead, I'll sit and read the books hey :0)

A well composed and exposed still life with warm colors that certainly gets the point across. "V"
Thank you very much David for the information, the kind thoughts, the photo and the dram you drank for me. We have a new IPA here brewed by West Coast Brewing Company, which is called Palate Wrecker. Despite the name it's a superb full bodied hoppy IPA. I'll have a bottle of it for you tonight. :)

Must admit that I've not tried many Irish whiskeys, I'm more familiar with the Scottish varieties. If these are representative of the size of your doubles I'll be right over.

This is outstanding, David. My tipples of choice are Ardbeg, Talisker
or Laphroaig Quarter Cask but this looks tempting. V.
