Locarno Beach

this seems an odd place for a hydrant...still it's wise to be prepared if ever the sand catches fire

Maybe it is forward planning for all the seaside mansions that will be built along the beach soon :0)
Phillip Normanton13-Mar-2012 20:38
Aha - I always knew all that stuff about the moon governing the tides was a load of old bunkum - now we see the proof! Well discovered!! :o)
Johnny JAG13-Mar-2012 20:35
LOL, do you get many sandfires?
Colin Storey13-Mar-2012 20:24

The hydrant also comes in handy when composing a beach scene with tankers off the coast. A great find David, and somehow reassuring that tax dollars are not only foolishly spent in California. "V"
Alain Boussac13-Mar-2012 14:36
The warning on the hydrant stipulates "fire use only" so it is forbidden to use it to rinse itself after the bathing... ( LOL ) My eyes do not still believe in the real presence of the thing in this place, but there is a beautiful harmony of red in any case ! V.

I'm almost sure that is the only fire hydrant in the World which is located on a beach...Congratulations for a terrific catch and a wonderful image! V

A wonderful balance of elements with the red adding the oomph.
