peculiar

for all its impressive structure, wonderful lighting. and iconic status in Vancouver, the Lion’s Gate Bridge does have a peculiar side...it has only three lanes, so the centre one is employed for different directions at various times of the day...the green and red lights tell the story...at this moment there are two lanes for northbound traffic, and one for southbound cars

Lovely string of lights, blue always looks great in the dark. In NY, lanes are switched north and southbound to accomodate the heaviest traffic.

Interesting peculiarity, well explained and illustrated in this interesting night shot. I can see how it would need traffic lights to regulate that complicated arrangement!

This bridge makes a stunning presence in the night in this well composed shot! I've been on bridges that have changing directions to their lanes, and have always found that a bit scary :^O

One of our bridges here is like that, but it is not as big as this one. Those ropes of blue lights are wonderful against the night sky. V

Ah, there are the lights that tell you what lane you should be in. I guess I would trust myself to drive over this bridge ok. I think I would be a little concerned that someone might be on a phone and not paying attention to the lights. Wonderful night shot. V

We have a long causeway like this ..... bad luck if you are going against peak traffic. Buts it's an impressive shot, and those lights add to the picture.
