joker

one key message of the Occupy movement is to end corporate greed...questioning just why the wealth generated by the work of so many ends up in the pockets of few...and certainly the reckless rampage for profits, particularly in the area of market speculators, has caused a lot of problems for most working people...the joker in the pack is government, the cluster of politicians who often seem a little too cosy with big business, and not attentive enough to the daily realities of those who voted them into office...they are the very people who can enact positive changes, through corrective legislation...but will they in the end..

Well taken. I have seen similar signs in California, and they certainly make you think...

Poignant catch, David, and you're right, it is all a big joke... on the people. You've got it right, and I doubt we can curb this greed without a lot of legislation that I just don't see ever getting through. At least not here in the the US.

Great image and message, the politicians forget about the people's needs and their goal becomes to be reelected.

The placard and your commentary tell the story. Unfortunately its the lobbyists who really run government. V

powerful image, great message! V

A strong image and you make valid points David. I agree with Raymond that we are not offered viable candidates at elections, but also the choice of political parties is a farce. The system seems to be broken and the machinery has no way to fix itself, at least at the moment.

meaningful capture, David.. excellent register you made

Riveting mask! And the strong light connects you with a fellow sympathizer whose eye contact you share in the immediacy of this bourgeois proletarian confrontation. Powerful image here.

Nice photo documentary, David. Well seen and captured.

A wonderfully telling image with the iconic hotel in the reflection that places the Occupy movement in Vancouver.
Unfortunately, election after election there seems to be little choice in the quality of the candidates that enter
the political arena. V

corrective legislation is an oxymoron...besides, there aren't enough kids, whose parents will let them mill around in parks indefinitely, to make a difference....

The Joker in the pack was outed in the UK, when the News of the World phone hacking scandel exposed just how deep Murdoch's corruption has spread.
