suburban blues 2

clearly the view from the back porch is more open than that from the front (see previous) of the house...there's more sky visible, and even a sightline to the North Shore mountains...but there's also a mass of dense housing, a rich growth of plants of varying scales, a tangled mesh of above-ground electrical cables, and the blue clothesline, that together conspire to partially screen this view as well

A wonderful mish-mash of things to see, houses rearing up through the vegetation, wide views beyond. Wonderful!! V

The conspiracy of electric cables and small sloping roofs is very photogenic and your composition emphasizes it perfectly. V.

How lucky you are to see the mountains from your lovely abode! :)

Ahhh, the jumble of modern life! But you can see the distant mountains through all the paraphenalia, that must make you smile when you get a glimpse of those far-off peaks :o))

Looks like a place where the weekend houses became permanent homes by time. BV
marie-jose wolff25-Jul-2011 19:00
...but you still have a beautiful view to the mountains! V
Johnny JAG25-Jul-2011 18:41
But at least you have a view!

The bit of elevation you are shooting from sure helps to see the impressive mountains in the background. V
Colin Storey25-Jul-2011 18:00
Still a good view to the mountains, bit busy with the lines though.

Certainly a lot to see here. I like the distant view of the mountains. I am thankful that our overhead cables were put underground before our city ran out of money.

I agree with Enny, the mountains look fantastic. They compensate
for the view of the other. :)
