Love this style of picture.
Excellent composition and nostalgic.

Great composition - it looks cool with the warm tones. I too have so many books I need and want to get to. Great interpretation of the theme. ~V~

I feel the "yellow tint" works beautifully in this shot. I like feeling the warmth. It sets a mood. Super shot of your very interesting collection of books. The background really adds to it.

Love this warm image and your books for reading in the winter...
Sheila12-Nov-2009 10:21
Love this and the background too!
Maaike Huizer12-Nov-2009 09:19
So clever, and ... pictures not always become more interesting when the white balance is exactly right. I like this warm colour.
Aud Elise Sjøsæther12-Nov-2009 09:18

to correct the yellow is not a big deal...even I could find out , and I don't read books about photoshop...
Jim Coffman11-Nov-2009 23:47
I think you have something to do this winter,David! Nice image.
Carol How11-Nov-2009 23:33
Agree with Lou, very insightful and yes I'd also start with that itty bitty one at the top!
Phillip Normanton11-Nov-2009 23:12
I'd start with that iddy-biddy one at the top :o) Stick something blue-ish over your lamp - although I think I like the warm tone too :o))
Jola Dziubinska11-Nov-2009 23:06
Oh yes, all those promises for one of these days :)
lou_rozensteins11-Nov-2009 22:55
Nice shot. You have given us a look at you by showing us your "To be Read" pile. Well done.
Mairéad11-Nov-2009 22:27
I love peeping at other people's book cases -
an interesting and varied collection here, bathed in warm light.

One of these days I'll make good resolutions, I promise you!
nice collection of books!V
Peter Sussex11-Nov-2009 21:44
You have some enviable books. And so is the treatment.
LynnH11-Nov-2009 21:05
You can prevent this tone by changing the white balance in your camera. BUT, I happen to like this yellowish tone. It ages the books and makes it seem like they've been neglected a long time!! V

This image goes perfectly with the song title! Have you been to Croatia? I hope to get there someday!
Guest 11-Nov-2009 20:27
I have a pretty big pile of these too and you have an interesting selection! I think the yellow huw looks good here!
Doug Cruden11-Nov-2009 20:18
I agree, it's fascinating seeing what other people read (and listen too!) Nice echo with the PF album at the back (Delicate Sound of Thunder inner gatefold??)
bill friedlander11-Nov-2009 20:04
Now that pbase has speeded up a little bit, perhaps you will find more time for reading.

You made this bookshelf very interesting with the play of lights! V!... Josefina
Cindi Smith11-Nov-2009 19:08
Hey, you can use the tungsten setting on your camera to get rid of the yellow tint but I must say I like it this way. What a great shot of those books!
Colin Storey11-Nov-2009 18:11
Wonderful shot of your books. v
borisalex11-Nov-2009 18:01

A nice mix of reading and a good shot for this challenge. Frank is right about "Middlemarch", but personally my favorite there are the stories by Mahfouz a writer who has been close to my heart for many years. Be sure to read hi Cairo Trilogy.
FrankB11-Nov-2009 17:06
but if you don't quite get throuh all of them, be sure to read Middlemarch...surely one of the all time greats! :) (PS: the center eyedropper in curves, click on a black...presto)
