Test Shots with the new-to-me 400mm Tamron Lens!!!

The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

Some of these used the 1.4 and others used the 2.0. Because it's not really digital-ready I don't have some of the EXIF information I usually do. These were strictly hit or miss shots. This is a manual focus lens. Boy, do you really get spoiled with that auto focus feature!!!

Also, the f-stop settings were limited to full open and next to full open so depth of field wasn't an option in these. But still, WHAT a fantastic new toy to have!!!

Up to the first alligator I was using the 1.4 and after the 1st alligator I used the 2.0.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Dad for the lens and all the stuff that came alone with it!

Focus problems and movement problems. The bird was being very cooperative - the dolt behind the camera was not.

Muckin' around with the camera settings. This is what you get when you put it to full program mode. Needless to say, we won't be doing that anymore.

Not bad, but it's a few too many stops on the exposure adjustment for me. Juvenile Great Blue Heron

A little too light for my taste. It's a trial and error period, clearly. But fun anyway. :-) Juvenile Great Blue Heron
