Here are the newborn (almost!) pictures of the first two foals born at Turkey Creek this year. Holly's foal, named Whisper, is the survivor of twins. Fending off the cold in his chic blue dog sweater (no cheap foal blanket for me, thank you!), his birthday is January 15, 2005, 5:30 am. With lots of attention and affection, great vet care and many babysitters, he grows stronger every minute, despite being so small and frail. But not for long! He's gonna be a big boy before long!

Smoke's red foal was born several days earlier, on January 11. We haven't decided on a name for him as yet. Fortunately, his birth was uncomplicated and he's already quite a handful at 5 days old, as of January 16. He thinks he owns the run of the place already!

Dee Dee soon followed with her beautiful, cuddly baby who is very friendly and very curious. He will soon grow into a big, healthy boy before long.
