Yes, Scotland again ...
After just a year since my last photographic trip to Edinburgh ( for moving towards the Farne Islands), I could not resist the invitation of my good friend and photographer Carlo Sassetti and we decided to spend the first days of June 2010 at these latitudes .
To try to limit the unpredictability factor linked to rough sea, which could heavily affect trips on the islands, we have designed a route primarily targeted for seabirds but focused mainly on Reserves in the mainland.
After an initial inevitable short visit to the Farne (we finally set foot on Staple Island ) with a digression in St. Abbs Head, we went to visit the Aberdeenshire RSBP reserves of Fowlsheugh and Troup Head (the only Gannet colony on the mainland).
The wheather was favourable, giving us many hours of sunshine. The worst day, gray and rainy, was the last one, passed on the island of May, but so great was the beauty of the island both in terms of scenery, birdlife and flowers that certainly we were not disappointed .
You will find images in this gallery that I considered most important. Some may appear repetitive to the observer, but if the attitude is the same it is hardly the same subject. Moreover, for me each image represents a unique moment.

Si, ancora la Scozia...
A distanza di appena un anno dal mio precedente viaggio fotografico a Edimburgo ( per proseguire verso le Isole Farne ) , non ho resistito all'invito del mio amico ed ottimo fotografo Carlo Sassetti e abbiamo deciso di trascorrere i primi giorni di Giugno 2010 a queste latitudini.
Per cercare di limitare il fattore di imponderabilità legato al meteomare, che avrebbe potuto pesantemente condizionare le uscite sulle isole, abbiamo concepito un itinerario rivolto essenzialmente agli uccelli marini ma orientato sopratutto su riserve in terraferma.
Dopo una iniziale inevitabile capatina alle Farne ( riuscendo finalmente a mettere piede a Staple Island ) con divagazione a St. Abbs Head , ci siamo diretti verso l'Aberdeenshire visitando le riserve RSBP di Fowlsheugh e Troup Head ( unica colonia di Sule sulla terraferma ).
Il tempo ci ha sorriso, regalandoci molte ore di sole. La giornata peggiore, grigia e piovosa , è stata l'ultima , trascorsa sull'isola di May , ma è stata tale la bellezza dell'isola sia dal punto di vista paesaggistico che dell'avifauna e delle fioriture da non lasciarci certo delusi, tuttaltro.
Troverete in questa galleria le immagini che ho ritenuto più significative. Alcune probabilmente appariranno ripetitive a chi osserva, ma anche se l'atteggiamento è lo stesso difficilmente si tratta dello stesso soggetto. Inoltre, per me che le ho scattate , ogni immagine rappresenta un momento irripetibile.
