Spotted Lantern Fly

Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania

We were sitting under a huge sycamore with our morning cup of coffee and these lantern flies were swarming all around us. They were in our hair, on our backs, and also crawling up and down the tree trunk. i did not share my precious morning drink.

Ugh. Pretty insect, but non-native and so destructive to North American trees and plants. Hope you are doing your share of dispatching!
