New life emerging from a stately Norway spruce

Kittatinny Valley State Park, Andover, NJ USA

The naturalist, Lynn, at Kittatinny Valley State Park explained that the pinkish 'female flower' on the right and the small 'male fruits' on the tip of the branch are typical signs of spring. Who knew! She was very happy that I caught both in one image.
