Officers' Row Fort Hancock

Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook, New Jersey

These houses were severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. The National Park Service has tried to lease these former officers' residences to non-profit organizations. In all honesty, they don't look like anybody in their right mind would lease them. The rehabilitation costs must be prohibitive. There is obviously no guarantee that another hurricane would not repeat what Sandy did four years ago.

Love the color and composition, but why do they have all those supports on the porches? V.
