Most of the gargoyles are safe, and many statues had been moved before the fire because of the restoration works. The experts are more optimistic now... Superb images of these medieval sculptures. V.

This is a wonderful image! Have faith! As long as it doesn’t become politicized somehow and they are straightforward about the task at hand it could be better in some ways though the challenges will be many.

Wonderful detail shot! I always loved those gargoyles. Wonderful too that you searched your archives and posted these suddenly particularly more meaningful images to remember the way it was. Hopefully Notre Dame can be fully restored.
