Winter sun2.jpg

Nr. Francois Lake, BC

Came across this scene on our snowshoe excursion today.
Not sure why this tree is needleless for the most part ?

Moody lighting and atmosphere. The bare tree is striking. "V"

That tree looks sad and lonely. Looks like there was a clear cut and this tree was left as a marker tree. Doesn't bode well for it since it no longer has the underground mycorrhizae network from other big trees for nurturance.

the sun looks molten through the cloud cover...that is an odd growth pattern on the nearly bare tree..

Lovely scene, Gill, very nicely framed and shot.

In Australia we blame the cockatoos when parts of trees go missing.. what a pretty
scene this is, beautiful colouring. v

Even the winter sun looks cold in this very interesting scene. Don't think that tree looks to healthy, however. Maybe it's just the odd one of the group. V

What a great scene, and love that brilliant sun. That certainly is an odd looking tree! V.

That sun sure doesn't look like it is imparting much warmth. Fascinating cold-country conifers.
