I happened upon your site looking for info on Yosemite. Please let me compliment you on your images in this gallery ! As a train buff and a bit of an amateur photographer, I must say that I am impressed. You have a great eye and your framing is very good.

The Shay (geared) locomotive shots are on a tourist railroad located just a few miles south of the Wawona entrance to Yosemite. The turntable is at El Portal, on the Merced River west of Yosemite, the roadbed shot was a little furhter down the river, on the way to mariposa. The 3751 scan was taken on a special run through Fontana, CA. - it was on it's way to the Grand Canyon. the small lake shots are at Green Valley Lake, a small resort in the mountains near Los angeles, CA. The restored Pacific Electric cars are now running in San Pedro, CA. (Los Angeles Harbor) near the maritime museum. The Palms are in 49 Palms Oasis, Joshua Tree National Park.
