They are pretty common wild around here and they are often intentionally sewn around the freeways, etc. But they are pretty well done for the season now. The poppy preserve area in the western Antelope Valley can be almost completely blanketed with them at the height of bloom. These were near Gorman on the I-5 in an area that has a number of springs and unique soil and water conditions that usually result in massive spring displays.

Poppies are one of my favorite flowers. I've had a lot of fun taking pictures of them over the past few weeks. I love the color of these. I haven't come across any orange ones yet! Nice work.
