New as of November 2010, WestJet started flying direct
from Toronto to Nassau in the Bahamas. I’ve been to the Bahamas on two
prior occasions, once back in 1988 at a land-based resort, and again in 1997
on a live aboard (that has since gone out of business). I found another live-aboard operation with the 102’
Aqua Cat . The price
of the boat was in the same price range of other Caribbean Live-Aboard
boats, but the airfare was roughly half. OK, decision made, so I booked the
trip for November 6.
I decided to make this a short strictly diving vacation this time.
