The Nagy Synagogue was built in 1859 by the Viennese architect Ludwig Förster in Byzantine/Moorish style. This is the largest synagogue in Europe and can contain 3,000 people.

In the garden is a number of massgraves where the people who perished in the ghetto in 1944/1945 were buried.

Besides the garden is the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park where several monuments can be seen.
A very impressive Holocaust Memorial is the Weeping Willow. In the leaves of the willow the names of Shoah victims are engraved.
