The estate Oud Amelisweerd was built in the 13th century and re-built around 1770 at Bunnik close to the city of Utrecht.
The most prominent residents of the house were
the first king of Holland, Louis Napoleon Bonaparte and his spouse queen Hortense de Beauharnais.
Nowadays the house is open to the public, but alas, all furniture and upholstering have been removed. The only remaining original decorations are the Chinese wall papers in a couple of rooms on the first floor.
