A romanticist interpretation of the ruin is
that it’s actually an idealized future and
not a superseded past; that what is real and
what is imagined can mutate and become the
other, expanding, merging, reflecting. There
is never true symmetry: There is always The
Other and as a reminder of what it is not now
but rather what it could have been. GS
