This corner damage was from a fall from a height of about ten feet onto to stone steps of a church. This particular 580EX was through the wars, it was even underwater with my 1D in a swimming pool and came up flashing ~ the camera did not even fog up ~ amazing.

It fell a few times and was out in hurricane driving rain a lot, we get a lot of rain where live and it was covered quite a few miles. Again Canon did a fixed fee out of warranty and I told them it was been under water ~ Canon say they do not repair water damage.
