Picacho Peak State Park contains a 1,500 foot elevation peak that was a unique landmark recognized since prehistoric times. First written records indicate that in the 1700's, the Anza Expedition passed through the area. Elevation of the peak is 3,374 feet with the Hunter trail leading to the top. It is rated as difficult and is 2.0 miles long.
