This set of images is from an ATV trip from Dugas, Arizona (off I17) to the Verde River in the Prescott and Tonto National Forests. Travel length was 54 miles round trip and took about 5.5 hours including breaks and lunch. The route takes you through miles of grazing meadows with black angus herds dispersed throughout. As you climb from the starting point of 3960 feet up to the highpoint of about 6500 feet, the road gets rugged, rocky and steep. The last 1/3 of the journey decends the Verde Rim and is on mountain shelf roads that have big washouts, steps and close brush. If you travel with a jeep or P/U, severe pinstriping will result. A great adventure.
