Between Bryce Canyon National Park and Arches National Park lies Capitol Reef, a unique red rock canyon expanse. Much less visited than the other parks you will find this area refreshingly quiet. This was a one day park for us so we drove the scenic road and did one hike - The Grand Wash Trail into a narrow canyon. Of special mention here is Utah Hwy 12, a 100 miles of twisting, mountainous highway between Bryce and Capitol Reef. One of the most beautiful roads in the country.
