Thick-tailed Gecko, Underwoodisaurus millii

Yengo National Park, NSW Australia

This cute little guy was found during a fauna survey in one of the more inaccessible parts of Yengo National Park north of Sydney
NSW. While these geckos certainly look cute, they have no hesitation devouring other geckos and are voracious predators. When
threatened they will arch and wriggle their brightly banded tail; they may also jump at the aggressor with little barking lunges, which
is quite disconcerting and has given this lizard the other common name of Barking gecko.
