Carlia vivax

Coolatai NSW Australia

This small lizard was found beside my rainwater tank. Carlias have four digits on the front limb and tansparent scales in their lower
eyelid, allowing them to see when their eyes are shut. It must make it difficult for them to sleep with the light on. They are small
insectivores and in southern Australia, very shy, which might explain why this was the first specimen I had found in Coolatai since 2001.
