Ant lion pit (and spot the grasshopper)

Cable Beach, Broome, WA

Being an ant-lion (a doodlebug to those 'Merkins out there), would require a tremendous amount of patience. Find a sandy bit of
ground, dig a hole, and sit at the bottom of the hole hoping that something small and tasty will eventually drop in. Fortunately,
small insects such as ants are forever looking at the sky wondering if it is going to rain, rather than looking where they are going,
and fall into the traps frequently enough for this method of getting a meal to pay off, at least in an evolutionary sense.

Apparently Ant lions do not excrete.

They are the carnivorous larvae of Lacewings in the family Myrmeleontidae.
