Diamond pythons, like people, encompass within their population different personality types, from placid to belligerent (although
only a female ready to mate would be described as having leadership qualities). This individual, which was a metre from being
run over by a colleague on a fauna survey (he's a birdo and was looking at the sky) was more towards the belligerent. Fortunately
these beautiful snakes are not venomous. Unfortunately they live in the heavily populated coastal strip of south-eastern Australia,
where they are killed by traffic, dogs, and alienated macho machete weilding maniacs.
