Cory the Bark-mimicking Grasshopper

Wollondilly area, NSW

This rather beautiful grasshopper is a species of the genus Coryphiste, Tribe Catantopinae, Family Agrididae. And don't you feel
better knowing that? They are a fairly large grasshopper (length about 70mm) and the live on the bark of trees where their camouflage makes them easy to overlook.
Unless you're a beady-eyed insect botherer like me.
