Bongga the Black-palmed rock monitor.

Ubirr, Kakadu, Northern Territory, Australia

Another picture of one of these fantastic reptiles, and another perk of being the guy who opened the restricted Ubirr art site in
the morning. After checking for miscreants and signs of illegal activities, I usually had about five minutes before delivering my
first talk of the day. In this picture I tried to capture the essence of the way that these lizards are adapted to life on the rocks,
as it basks in the morning sun to get enough energy to avoid tourists and make mischief on smaller reptiles.
