Prickly Forest Skink, Gnypetoscincus queanslandiae

Mount Hypipamee National Park

One of the most bizarre-looking skinks in Australia, this rainforest-dwelling lizard is rarely seen except by the most careful
observer. It is a particularly shy and cryptic species, sheltering in deep crevices in logs from where it ambushes passing prey.
