Immediately after discovery bird began circling the causeway area. Note large but parallel-sided bill, pink with sharply-defined black tip. Body is heavy and wings broad. Size was larger than nearby Herring Gulls. Feathering was overall pale whitish-buff, with buff tips to covert feathers, buff uppertail coverts, and mild buff color to portions of the tail. Primaries and secondaries are white.
