Common Loon juvenile

Aging based on well-defined pale feather tips to upperparts. Note ill-defined white penetrating the dark around eye. Dark culmen extending to tip well seen here (good mark separating pale-billed birds from Yellow-billed). Notice the pale indentation at mid neck with dark extending forward below (this is NOT a chin strap, which would be higher).
