Stilt Sandpiper juvenile
Another with more much more molt of the scapulars, showing nearly a full plain gray upper back contrasting with the juvenal lower scapulars and wing coverts. Some juveniles show a trace of a chestnut auricular patch suggestive of the brighter colors seen later in definitive alternate (adult breeding) plumage. Leg color was yellowish, hard to see here.
