This gallery labelled as a weekend is actually a weekend and five days on either side of it, a period during which we found some surprises, more particularly, not one but possibly two Lawrence's Warblers thanks in part to a friend of ours who found the first one (it took us two trips to relocate it). This first one was followed by a second one about two hours later and a few miles away, then to top it off, we found a Brewster's warbler later that day followed finally by a Golden-winged Warbler.
I was surprised by the fact that the two Lawrence's Warblers showed different plumage, the first one the typical Blue-winged Warbler wing bars while the second one has a Golden-winged Warbler wing bar. I checked on line and could not find anything matching that bird, essentially a Golden-wing with an overall yellow tone. Could this bird be a Golden-wing variant with a heavy yellow tint. In the past I have seen Golden-wings with a faint yellow breast but not one signing a Blue-wing song !!
The Brewster's Warbler (a back-cross) was also different from one I found two years ago, the earlier one having yellow wing bars while the later one showing white wing bars.
