On Ben Lomond

Living in nearby Helensburgh, I've been looking at Ben Lomond for twenty two years but climbed it for the first time in April 2006. It's a strenuous outing - a round trip of more than seven miles, climbing (and then descending) 975 metres (or 3,248 feet). It was overcast with the summit in cloud for most of the climb but the weather cleared whilst I was at the summit and a got a few decent pictures before descending. The weather improved steadily on the return and I was rewarded with some excellent views of Loch Lomond on the descent.
