How much of Paris can you see when it's your first ever visit and you only have a couple of hours to spare in transit? I decided to test this for myself on an unplanned hike, with the only fixed points being the start at the Arc de Triomphe and the finish at the Gare du Nord a maximum of three hours later.

Of course it was impossible to visit all the famous monuments and musea, but nonetheless I felt like I had seen Paris after my +10km stroll. And although I will never feel at home in the busy crowds and traffic of a big city, I am happy with the vistas I was presented with. I did my best to capture some of it from a landscape photographer's perspective, and invite you to join me on my short stroll through Paris.
