Andromeda (M31)

For any budding astrophotographer, the Andromeda Galaxy is one of the first steps on the ladder. This is my go at it with my very simple gear: no tracking, an APS-C DSLR, and a 150mm focal length. This final image was stacked from 44 photos at 2.5 second, iso 12800, and f/2.8. Even though though the colours are off and there's not a huge amount of fine detail visible, I'm impressed by what can be achieved with simple photography tools these days.

44 light frames (2.5 s each at iso 12800, 150mm, f/2.8), 43 dark frames, 26 bias frames, and 21 flat frames. full exif
