Arriving in Alice Springs was quite a shock, because temperatures had dropped to chilly 13C, and it had just stopped raining. Weather improved a lot for the next days, but temperatures were still way below average, even for early spring.
Later we learned that climate has changed over the last few year, being a lot wetter than normal. So, instead of the expected red, dry dessert we saw blooming bushes, green trees and wildflowers everywhere.
