Build by veterans of WW I, the Great Ocean Road belongs to the most scenic coastal roads in the world. It is about 300km long, following a breathtaking shoreline and sometimes leading through dense moderate cool rainforest. Strong winds and treacherous currents gave parts of the area the name "Shipwreck Cost".
