Moorea is the smaller sister island to Tahitii, which is only 17km away. It is of volcanic origin and about 3 million years old. Its 12000 inhabitats live mainly in the many villages along the shore. Tourism is one of the bigger businesses, but the people of the island managed to preserve the atmosphere of tranquility.
