NGC 1313 is an unusually shaped barred spiral galaxy. It has been also classified as a 'starburst' galaxy because of its rich abundance of newly born blueish star clusters.
Its distance is about 14 Mill. Light years from us.
There is also some galactic cirrus, superimposed on NGC 1313, visible. It is dust, illuminated by the combined light from our galaxy.
