Already early in the morning the ship was buzzing with activity. People were putting up their equipment at the places they selected days before. I took a more relaxed approach by deciding to take only handheld shots with a telelens, not a bad decision on a moving and rocking ship.
The night before the meterologist convinced the captain to go further north than planned to escape a possible cloudy area - which was a very smart move to do. We still had not a perfect sky, but the thin layer of clouds didn't take much from the impact of the eclipse.
