Very difficult to get photographs at a NASCAR race as you are not allowed to get close to anything of importance. Like pro sports the spectators (who pay the salaries) are kept at bay. The usher Nazis are particularly quick to admonish you to your reserved seats.
I did sneak up to the top of the grandstands on turn four for 30 minutes before I was told rudely to return to my seat.
Most likely won't bring the big camera to future races as Bill France is only interested in getting your money. Want to get a bit closer to the racers, well that will cost you extra - a LOT extra.
NASCAR today is all about money - your money. Watching it on TV is looking better and better and from the empty, unsold seats on Sunday, there are a lot of people with the same idea. Sunday races used to be sold out and EVERY seat filled - not now.
Brian France, are you paying attention? Your roots are abandoning you - count me in too. After the Daytona 2008 race our family is going to pack it in after 18 years of attending.
