GoodYear Blimp - Pompano Beach Florida

On a bright and sunny morning, February 23, 2008, I was invited to photograph the Goodyear blimp at its Pompano Beach Base.

Very exciting to say the least. While I was clicking away Chief Pilot Larry Chambers asked if I would like to take a ride - wow, yes.

Here are my attempts to show the blimp as you have never seen it before - hope you enjoy.

It does pay to know someone and be lucky. My wife and I were lucky enough to get a ride in the Goodyear blimp Eagle in California. The chief pilot here had a plane at my home airfield and offered us a ride. He was also an instructor and told us to bring our log books. So my wife and I both have .5 hrs in an airship.
Thank you for the nice comments on my photographs. Your are correct in saying that it takes tooooo much time to render the photos.
I took a look at your photos also and think you do a great job.

I have a certificate for a blimp ride that we auctioned at our non-profit PROPEL tournament. How do I contact you for information for scheduling and number of passengers
for the award and use of this certificate. Thank you for your help.

I'm going to take a tour of the hangar in a couple of days and this has me REALLY excited for the trip! These pictures are absolutely wonderful! Sadly I don't think I'll be taking a ride on the blimp, but I'm still very happy that I get to tour the facility! These pictures are great!

These are really nice photos that tell a story. I enjoyed each one! The photos from the air give us the perspective view that we do not see bvery often. They are a real treat!
