On 18 December 2004 three friends and I made an overnight 2000 Kilometer 24 hour return trip by car from The Netherlands to Sweden to see this Ivory Gull. According to Birdlife International, numbers of this high arctic species have decreased dramatically . Luckily it was still there and offered stunning views.
