A rally was organized outside of the entrance to Gate 1 of the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base in Norfolk, Virginia on August 2, 2008 to bring awareness to and protest the mounting threat of a US/Israeli attack against Iran. Initiated locally by the Hampton Roads Peace & Justice Coalition and Norfolk-area members of Veterans for Peace, the demonstration was part of a nationwide protest oganized in over 60 cities throughout the United States on that day. The local Norfolk action was endorsed by the following organizations:
