Built about 1,400 for Abbotsbury Abbey and was probably a Pilgrim Chapel. It's position high on top of a hill close to the sea made it useful as a seamark. For it's actual physical size it actually presents a quite monumental silhouette. It is still used as a place of worship with several services held there every year.
