We have not been on a vacation since 2012, well we did go to the poconos for a couple days for a show Jeremy wanted to see. But we thought for our 25th anniversary we'd check off something on my health bucket list (which is stuff I would like to try to do before my health gets much worse and I can't do it physically.) I've always heard Watkins Glen state park is like walking through middle earth. I hoped for rain the few days before and wouldn't you know it, it rained almost every day for about a month! So the water was flowing nicely, but it was murky so it blew out the photos a bit more than I was hoping, and I don't do HDR. But the walk was beautiful with all the trees and rocks and plants. I did really worry about the crowds so I felt quite rushed to try to photograph the falls before it got bad, which by 9am it was getting there. So they didn't come out as well as I hoped. Also, I hate to say this, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I actually preferred Buttermilk and Bushkill (even though Bushkill is just as much of a tourist trap as Watkins Glen is. But it was still a wonderful trip! Even though I can barely move now!
