The story is the usual one. We were looking for a place outside London to move to. We were prepared to buy a property in need of renovation... In January 2009 we came across The Old Volunteer, a former inn, a house with history going back to late Mediaeval times. Despite its ruinous state we fell in love with it and eventually bought it. We collected the keys on All Fools Day.
